AN ILLUSTRATED MANIFESTOThis is an essay outlining my key intentions and motives as a graphic designer. It showcases my most predominant inspirations and role models. It is conveyed in an editorial manner, featuring edited photography. It is binded together with a unique take on piano binding, separating the main body from the bibliography.

The format of a designer manifesto should complement the content. I’ve decided on an unconventional binding format, to represent my risk taking and experimental persona. With piano binding, the spine is woven together around a tube, resembling the hinge on a piano lid. Hinges and their connotations appealed to me - my work has a strong focus on troubleshooting systems and the best way to synthesise components to create strong visual languages.

The clean visual layout and optimal distribution of content, emphasises my strategy and organisational skills, crucial values of a designer. Design goes beyond aesthetics. Legibility and user friendliness should always be priorities. Every design choice must have a purpose.
